Acacia honey – also known as the queen of honeys

Acacia honey is not only highly valued for its sweet taste but also for its remarkable health benefits. It was introduced to Hungary by Sámuel Tessedik to help bind the sand, and due to its favorable growing conditions, the black locust tree (Robinia pseudoacacia) has flourished across the country, creating vast acacia forests unique to Hungary. This tree is one of the best bee pastures, and acacia honey makes up the majority of honey production in Hungary.


In 2014, acacia honey was recognized as a Hungarikum, a distinction for uniquely Hungarian products.
